Ongoing Projects

The Brain CLIMA Project

I am the project originator and the lead of the policy translation workstream of a 3-year Wellcome Trust–funded international and transdisciplinary study examining the combined impacts of heat and air pollution on brain health, translating mechanistic and epidemiological findings into climate-health policy and public-health action in Latin America.

The WHO Air Pollution and Health Training Toolkit for Brain Health

I am the co-lead of the World Health Organization-partnered project to create a training module on air pollution and brain and mental health. The toolkit aims to provide healthcare professionals and public health workers with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand and address the health effects of air pollution and mitigate risks by effectively engaging with patients, individuals, and communities while advocating for clean air interventions.

Effects of Air Pollution and Extreme Heat on Brain Health in Children and Young Adults in Delhi (Stanford-funded)

I am the principal investigator of a research project that aims to identify the synergistic impact of air pollution and extreme heat on the cognition and mental health of children and young adults in Delhi, India.

The Heat and Cognition Project: The Collective Cost of Extreme Heat

I am one of the Neurology and Environmental Health experts on this global Many Labs study, which examines the effects of extreme heat as a climate hazard across many countries.

Global Resilient Brains Project

I lead an international, multi-layered project dedicated to uncovering the drivers of brain resilience in vulnerable communities facing climate change and other planetary crises.

CliCBrain Climate, Cities and Brain Health

I am an associate partner on the project, which aims to develop an evidence-based, practice-oriented research and training program to improve design, planning, innovation, and policy.
